Worrier

All my friends were talking about it. I decided to finally just get the Series and see what they were talking about; I wanted to join the conversation. I went to my video guy and took Season I and Season II. He informs me that now he runs a delivery service and for Season III & IV, I can just call him from home and he will deliver at no extra charge – yay for competition in business leading to better services and yay for more convenience or is it laziness – I digress.

Breaking Bad is an American crime drama television series about Walter White (Bryan Cranston), a struggling high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine (drug popularly known as meth), in order to make a tonne of money and secure his family’s financial future before he dies.

In Season Two, Walter White has finished the first stage of chemotherapy and undergoes a scan to check the response of the tumor to the treatment. He has to wait for one week for the results – this is a long one week. He expects the worst and even begins to prepare his family for his death.

I feel sorry for Walter, his wife and teenage son. They all start to imagine how it will be without him and the episode ends. For a while my feelings were caught up in the TV world – I felt sorry for his wife and his son who were trying to imagine a life without Walter. Then it hit me!

If there’s a season IV, Walter White must still be alive! The main character never dies in any quality production! All of a sudden I felt so much better. Plus, I could just press play and find out. Phew!

This is how God must view things when he says, don’t worry. He looks into the future and knows what will happen. If something bad will happen, God knows He will be there for you and will help you through it. If something good is about to happen, He knows you will enjoy it. Worrying just makes you miserable while you wait, it doesn’t change anything.

Matthew 6:25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about what you will wear. Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes?

Life is more than food and clothes and houses and cars and money and marriage – life is more than that. The scripture here implies that when we focus on attaining these things, we miss something more important – life.

God has seen the next episode in your life, actually He knows all the way to the end. He knows.

You can ask Him; you can trust Him; you can follow Him confidently into the future as the seasons unfold.

  1. This is very true but I always wonder why we so often forget to trust God. So often…

  2. Sure if you study Matthew 6:25 intently, you will concur that the Holy Spirit cautions us on four forms of worry namely;

    a). Worry about life
    b). Worry about food
    c). Worry about drink
    d) Worry about clothes

Further, you will in no doubt realize that four is the number of creation as illustrated hereunder:

a). The fullness of the earth is in four corners that is East,West,North & South.
b).There are four seasons namely Summer,Winter ,Autumn & Spring
c).The 4th commandment is the first that refers to the earth.
d).The 4th clause of the Lord’s Prayer is the first that mentions the earth
e).The materials of the tabernacle were four and so were the coverings and the ornamentations.

In view of the foregoing,it is evident that the holy spirit warns on the worldly view of life. That unless we submit ourselves to the most holy will of God our living will be meaningless;there is no life.Remember, God lives outside time, that is he is a timeless God who see us in eternity.Imagine God sees where you will be in the next 100000 years, what your role will be in his everlasting kingdom, isnt he a great God? And that is why the holyspirit indicates that God has planted eternity in human heart (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

So what is 80 years or better yet 100 years spent on earth compared to eternity? Surely, there is no comparison! Therefore let us get out of the way and lets get God in the way… Let him have his way. We cannot overthrow him because he is God;he is seated high and majestic and rules over everything that exists, including you. He does great things past finding out.

The Holy Spirit paints our position in relation to God in Daniel 4:35 (All who live on the earth are nothing compared to him. He does what he wishes with the heavenly armies and with those who live on earth. No one can hold back his power or say to him, ‘What did you do?’) and this is a divine reality..So no matter what happens let us get God in his throne because worrying will not change his most holy will in us which has been revealed through his beloved son,our Lord Jesus Christ.

  3. What is the secret of dedicating/committing ourselves to issues/activities related to God. I mean like getting to read scriptures on daily basis, proper worship, and such things that will get us closer to our God. Coz like me nowadays am very good at planning to read the bible and pray, but it ends there. And maybe am not alone. Please do an article on this. Thanks
